Getting Started at Oakland County CrossFit
Oakland County CrossFit is a place where effort, dedication and work capacity rule. The fittest people you see on TV and the internet got that way through consistent hard work. Contrary to what marketing geniuses would like you to believe, there are no pills or shortcuts to legitimate health and fitness. These things are built with daily effort and focus; in the gym, kitchen and everywhere in between.
At Oakland County CrossFit our workouts, though they are some of the best you're likely to find, are only a small fraction of what we do. We aim to enable you to live a healthy lifestyle 100% of the time, not just the time you spend with us. Beyond radically altering your perception of what a workout is or should be, it is our mission to alter your lifestyle in a way that just might save your life.
The proverbial first step to effecting change is admitting you have a problem. Maybe it's a problem with the way you look or feel. Maybe you realize hitting the McDonald's drive-thru on the way to work everyday isn't doing you any favors. Maybe you've been doing the same routine in the gym for years and haven't seen any meaningful results and now you're wondering if all that time spent is truly worth it. Maybe you're beginning to suspect that the fitness magazines and celebrity diets aren't being that honest with you. In short, maybe you're realizing that your habits outside the gym have a far greater impact on your health and wellbeing than what you do for the hour(s?) a day you're inside it.

If you've reached this level of honest self awareness the next step is knowledge. With an open mind, research and evaluate any and all alternatives to the way you're doing things now or have done them in the past. With the Zen notion of a beginners mind, try some of them. You'll learn a few things about yourself and fitness. During this time of introspection and evaluation look through our site and the many resources we provide for this purpose. After doing so, contact us and we'll have you out to show you what all this looks like in the real world, on a sweaty gym floor.
