Why Assess?

The workouts we do on any given day at Oakland County CrossFit are hard. We ask our athletes to do things that demand high levels of skill and focus and we often ask them to do these things as fast as safely possible. With this in mind, we are constantly assessing how you move and where your weaknesses and imbalances are. This starts on day one with your mobility assessment.

The mobility assessment represents your initial training contact with one of our trainers and allows us to begin assessing your movement and current fitness level in a one on one setting. This also allows us to get to know you - and you us - including your fitness history and goals.

The assessment itself takes about an hour and consists of a few quick mobility and baseline "cardio" and strength tests (pushups, situps, etc). Much like doctors considering various courses of treatment, we use these results along with your history to evaluate the next step in getting you prepared for our group classes.
