We love kids here at Oakland County CrossFit and think it’s important for them to see their parents leading active, healthy lives. However, we also want to keep kids and everyone else in our gym safe. This is why we have developed the following Code Of Conduct to help guide the children, parents, and coaches of Oakland County CrossFit.
The ultimate goal is to avoid conflicts and outsmart your opponent. However, when life happens, you are your own first responder. Our kids deserve every edge, so be proactive, and be involved. ~ Mike Panebianco
- Children MUST be supervised while parent(s) work out. The kids’ room in the facility serves to aid in this purpose, however, it is not meant for children to be left alone without supervision.
- Please remember we are coaches, not daycare providers. It is imperative to have all coaches on the floor to coach and motivate our athletes. If one of us is occupied with anything other than coaching our athletes, our ability to provide a quality product for our members is not possible.
- If your child is sick (loose/weeping bodily fluids – besides sweat, fever of 100+, must be fever free for 24+ hours, etc.) do not bring them to the box regardless of how much you wish to work out. The sickness spreads and affects other families as well as the operation of the gym.
- Please help keep the KID ZONE clean and tidy. We regularly sanitize and clean, but we frown on cleaning up a huge mess left in the room. Try to leave the KID ZONE a little nicer than how you found it, to help maintain a safe and clean environment for your (and our) children.
- Kids will not damage the KID ZONE toys or items provided. Parents will be held responsible to replace any damaged items, including the structure of the room.
- Your child must have self-control and respect for the coaches, our property, and other children. If this is not the case, we will tell you mid-workout to rectify the situation.
- Kids are not allowed in the lofts to play as there is equipment, furnaces and wires that can lead to injury when unsupervised.
- Children are not allowed on the gym floor during active workout sessions, which includes group classes and personal training sessions, for obvious safety and insurance reasons.
- Besides the rings and ropes, children are not allowed to play on or with other equipment when allowed on the gym floor after the workouts are over. Weighted objects, rowers, the pull up system and other pieces of equipment are out of the question. If your children are playing on the rings, it is your responsibility to supervise them and accept responsibility for their actions.
- Kids are asked to refrain from chewing gum while in the box.
- Profanity will not be tolerated.
